Branding is a very broad concept — much more than what is shown by the samples that I will exhibit here, and is of utmost importance.

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to design several, and very different logos; from technology companies to fashion stores, through blogs or construction companies. But branding is not just — at least, it should not be limited to – designing a logotype. It covers many other facets that have to do with the way a brand communicates with consumers. In this regard, it is essential to maintain consistency, not only visual, in all the diverse pieces that are made, whether offline or online.

Today, all facets of marketing are complementary and integrated in order to bring the diverse profiles of consumer an appealing message, regardless of the channel through which the message reaches its destination.

As a freelancer, I have dealt with this to fully carry out the different pieces for the various channels.

Always eager to learn new skills, I began researching on Website development, and — thanks to all those people who share their valuable knowledge on the Internet — within some time I was able to build relatively sophisticated Websites.

Although I can — again, with the help of those geniuses out there — develop a Website from scratch, using Adobe Dreamweaver, now I feel more inclined to use CMS frames, especially WordPress, which is an incalculably useful and versatile tool for building beautiful, reliable Websites.

Emails, banners, websites, landing pages… Tools for online marketing are varied and very powerful if used in the right way, either by themselves or in combination with other tools, both online and offline. Since my goal is to cover as many areas of communication as possible, I offer the opportunity to develop online campaigns, both with emailings and with banners—using Adobe Flash or other software.

The great advantage of the online tools is that they allow a comprehensive response control, being generally inexpensive and very effective.

I have worked for several years — the bulk of my career — with various Direct Marketing agencies, such as CP Proximity, Comunicopolis, or Shackleton. I can conceptualize, develop, and execute from a whole campaign to a single direct mail, either flat or dimensional.

Some of the projects I have worked on have been awarded on different events, both in Europe and in the USA.

The emailing is another of the tools available to do online marketing, but deserves special attention because of the many choices that certain platforms offer to build and send emails, such as Campaign Monitor, MailChimp or Mad Mimi.

Thanks to them virtually any company or brand can access, with a more than reasonable cost, to sending regular emails, plus an accurate and comprehensive monitoring of the results obtained — with the participation of a professional who manages the platform.

Although it is not the kind of project I’ve done more frequently, designing and laying out books or magazines is always an exciting challenge for an art director; not only because it tests my skills as such, but because it involves the management of other variables, such as time, production costs, etc., that are as interesting as the design work itself.

Here you can see some of the magazines and books that have had the opportunity to execute.

Corporate, sales, informative, leaflets, flyers or business, as part of a direct mail or without major complexities; brochures have been and continue to be, although to a lesser extent, an essential part of the communication of the companies or brands.

In my portfolio you will see lots of brochures. But it is essential that they meet the objectives for which they were designed: to attract, empathize, create awareness… And as a consequence of the above, to sell.

One area of marketing I’ve come to specialize, in addition to Direct and Promotional Marketing, is the Marketing of Healthcare.

It is a terrain with its peculiarities, with very specific targets and special viewing features, in which creativity must conform to the requirements of the legislation in this area. But this does not necessarily mean that creativity is constrained, only you must follow certain rules.

Working, directly or indirectly, for companies such as 3M, Boehringer Ingelheim, Pliva or Takeda, to name a few, has provided me with an extensive knowledge of healthcare marketing.
